Uses Noise Control System, Acoustic-Jacket, composite, noise barrier jacketing products are used in combination with selected thicknesses and typed of energy absorbing insulation(s) to reduce harmful and annoying noise levels generated in chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper and power plants and at compressor stations as well as in light commercial manufacturing facilities.

Noise, radiating from processing equipment, such as turbines, compressors, fans, pumps, valves and related piping and ducting and other work place noise sources, if effectively reduced, wen insulated and acoustically jacketed or enclosed. Indoor/outdoor, fixed in-place and/or removable/replaceable covers, barriers and enclosures may be installed for essentially all types of environments and exposures using Noise Control Systems Acoustic-Jacket acoustical jacketing.
Installation Following the installation of the specified type(s) and thickness(es) of insulation to equipment and related piping and ducting surfaces:

Install each section of the specified type(s) and weight(s)/sq ft (M2) Acoustic-Jacket or Acoustic-Jacket L noise barrier jacketing or sheeting providing a 2in (50.8mm) overlap of the previously applied sections. Including a 2in (50.8 mm) longitudinal hemmed edge seam on pipe jacketing.

For piping, caulk all circumferential and longitudinal overlapped jacketing joints with a 1/8 - 1/4in (3.175 - 6.35mm) diameter bead of Acoustic Seal Joint Sealant, Approximately 1 to 2in (25.4 to 50.8 mm) under each overlapping edge.

Band the acoustical jacketing securely, using 3/4 x 0.020in (19.05 x .508mm) stainless steel strapping over each of the circumferential overlapped caulked joints, and on approximately 9in (228.6mm) centers on each section of jacketing.

Install acoustical jacketing and sheeting over dry acoustic mastic coated surfaces, providing a 3in (76.2mm) overlap. Apply a 1/8 - 1/4in (4-7mm) diameter bead of Acoustic-Seal Joint Sealant in all joints prior to securing with 3.4 x 0.200 in (19.05 x .508mm) stainless steel banding.

Flash metal to metal and/or mastic joints with Acoustic-Seal Joint Sealant, 2in (50.8mm) onto both materials. Avoid the use of screws and rivets. They tend to loosen and fall out.

For Vertical Piping:

Fabricate “s” clips form 3/4 x 0.020in (19.05 x .508mm) stainless steel strapping, 3in (75.2mm) in length, with 1in (25.4mm) legs insert the down leg(s), in quadrant positions, to accept and support each following tier of overlapping jacketing.

Apply 1/8 - 1/4in (3mm-6mm) diameter bead of joint sealant circumferentially over the “s” clips down approximately 2in (50.8mm) from the upper circumferential edge of jacketing to be overlapping and in the longitudinal lap of jacketing being installed.

Insert the lower edge of the following jacketing section into the “s” clips for support and band using 3/4 x 0.20in (19.05 x .508mm) stainless steel strapping over the overlapped caulker joint and on 9in (228.6mm) centers on each jacket section being installed.
